Kat Ricker at Beach Books

Kat Ricker will read from and sign copies of her book Something Familiar at Beach Books in Seaside, Oregon at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2. This falls during the first Saturday Art Walk, which starts at 5:00.

Something Familiar is a collection of poetry and short stories about people in Oregon, Ohio, and worlds in between (Trillium Press). It offers clear storytelling about characters readers recognize, from life in smalltown America, the farm, to the strange conversations of otherworldly matters heard on the metro bus.

From Top 100 Amazon reviewer Craig Matteson-
"I can't imagine a better use of $10 than getting this book. You will feel fresher, lighter, happier, and more alive... You will get more delight and pleasure from these pages than you will expect, even after my enthusiastic build-up. Really."

Many of the pieces in this collection have previously appeared in publications in America and abroad (Yankee, Paris-Atlantic in France, Poet’s Voice in Austria, Kaleidoscope, Cambrensis in Wales).
